His daughter had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer, and there was nothing he could do to help. No longer could he cure her with magic, instead he was forced to watch her suffer through unsuccessful treatment after treatment. And then for the third time in his long, long life, everything changed. It shouldn’t have been possible, but that didn’t matter. It was happening anyway. The System had found them.
