Kaia the Argent Wing

A girl with two forms. One is a tinkerer, the other an angel. Nobody can know they're the same person. Both will be needed if Edgewood wants to survive the Storm and the old gods who rise in its wake. The Storm arrives barely weeks after graduation. In an instant, its whims become the new laws of reality. First, it kills humanity’s favourite modern toys, then it enacts a system with zero tooltips and no tutorial. Finally, it drops a dying angel into Kai Aguilar’s backyard. Overcome by a corrupting poison, the angel spends her last breath gifting her divine Grace to Kai. The offer comes with a couple… caveats, like a new and unfamiliar body, a meddling goddess, and the poison that killed the angel in the first place. Using the new six-foot angelic form, Kai works to carve a refuge out of the ruins of her town. Then, using her tinkerer form, she must forge the weaponry and infrastructure to keep her fledgling refuge safe. With a man preaching a rival god inside her walls, and a sapient blizzard soaring over the horizon, that task will not be easy. Follow Kai as they grapple with this newfound duality, struggle to survive, and build a survivor's community in a world that has been plunged into violence and chaos. What to expect: * System Apocalypse: Opaque system that communicates entirely through vibes and little marbles. * Capped tech apocalypse. Guns are hard. Cars become angry. Electricity is out the window. Steam is okay. * Frostpunk-style community battle for survival. * A thirsty bisexual MC. Yuri romance. Brief het explorations. * Genderbender and trans themes. * Corrupted Angel progression. A patron goddess who is very present. * Some crafting stuff on the side. * More info in the first chapter’s author note! Cover by Jegsuuu
